A black painted comb-back Windsor arm chair having the distinctive shaped crest above a shield-shaped carved seat with a high pommel. The elongated, baluster turned, raked legs joined by a cross stretcher. The carved arms with turned supports raked forward. The turnings are accentuated by mustard yellow stripping.
Original black paint with no repairs save for a thin block of black painted wood screwed to the seat bottom likely to arrest checking of the seat. To quote Benjamin Ginsburg," This comb-back Windsor is a fine example of attractive design, balance, stance, and character.
38 inches high, 15 1/2 inches deep, 17 inches wide, 17 inches seat height.
