Hasbrouck was known for his detailed, rustic wooded landscapes especially those depicting the starkness of Winter. He was a truly gifted watercolorist. Hasbrouck exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Boston Art Club, the Art Institute of Chicago, and at the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
Dubois Fenelon Hasbrouck's work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Art and the San Diego Museum of Art.
