A fully hallmarked sauce ladle with marks for Queen Victoria, London, Sterling standard, and the date letter 'k' for 1885-1886. The maker's mark is for the partnership of John Aldwinckle and James Slater. 7 inches long.
The Kings pattern has remained popular for over two hundred years. Some silver manufacturers call it the English King pattern. This example has the pendant scallop shell on both sides of the handle as well as the join between the handle and the bowl- a fine, heavy example in excellent condition.
